Information On Cash Rebates For Fuel Subsidy

Pos Malaysia Berhad (PMB) has been appointed as the source for disbursement of the Cash Rebates to eligible private vehicle owners.

The implementation will be done in two phases :

Phase I: eligible Malaysians whose road tax were purchased or renewed with effective date from 1 April 2008 until 31 May 2008 can start to claim the subsidy at post offices from 14 June 2008 (Saturday) until 31 March 2009.

Phase II: vehicle owners who have purchased or renewed their road tax from 1 June 2008 until 31 March 2009, can commence their Cash Rebate claims at post offices from 1 July 2008 (Tuesday) onwards.

Following the partial removal of fuel subsidies on June 4, owners of vehicles below 2,000cc and four-wheel-drive and pick-up trucks of up to 2,500cc are eligible for a RM625 rebate. Owners of motorcycles below 250cc are eligible for RM150.

Each person is allowed to claim rebates for five vehicles.

Road tax discount of RM200 for owners of private vehicles with engine capacities above 2,000cc

RM50 road tax discount for motorcycles with engines above 250cc.
